Design Application of 2D Auxetic Lattice Structures

Design Application of 2D Auxetic Lattice Structures for enhanced Mechanical Properties.
This project aims to explore the potential of 2D auxetic lattice structures to enhance mechanical properties. These lattice structures expand when subjected to tensile stress, a unique characteristic compared to most materials that contract under tension. Leveraging 3D printing technology, we can fabricate intricate auxetic lattice patterns that were previously unattainable through conventional manufacturing techniques. This innovation holds promise for creating novel designs that exhibit superior strength, stiffness, and energy absorption capabilities. The findings from this research could have significant implications for the advancements in Industry 4.0.
This project is in research phase for the tenure July'23 to May'24.
